Every year, photographer David Short aims to shoot a project that takes him somewhere he wouldn’t ordinarily go. It's an adventure, meeting people and visiting places that are not very well trodden, but these trips also take him to a different place, both personally and photographically. Sometimes he finds himself in unusual, and at times uncomfortable, situations. This makes him see and think differently, which he hopes spills over into his work.
Photographing the Eagle Hunters in Mongolia was one of these moments.
We designed a limited run of 150 high-quality books to document David's experiences with the Eagle Hunter in Mongolia.
The covers are made of fabric over board, with a tipped-in photo and matte debossed text on the outer surface. The pages are printed on uncoated off-white art paper to give the photography a natural tone.
The award-winning team at FE Burman in London printed and bound the 200-page book using traditional book-binding techniques.
